Dear Honorable Mayor Watson, Mayor Pro Tem Ellis, and Council Members,
Attached for your review and consideration is a letter and statement from the Austin Neighborhoods Council regarding our public safety and quality of life concerns related to Council Member Pool's "HOME (Home Options for Middle-Income Empowerment) Resolution."
We ask that the City Council consider and implement a collaborative process that incorporates a qualitative community engagement process that includes environmentalists, neighborhoods, and the development community that will result in creating a safe and habitable environment for ALL residents of Austin in the long term. This collaborative process can only result in a win-win outcome for current and future residents of Austin. We look forward to working with you in this collaborative process.
